GalleyList questions from fleet buyers and captains, answered plainly
What the product does, what is set per company, and what it does not do.
For buyers and fleet offices
What does GalleyList do?
GalleyList lets towboat captains build weekly grocery orders from a company catalog and send them to the office. The office manages boats, budgets, catalog, and the chosen grocery provider. Benny shows recorded fleet purchasing activity.
How does the per-boat sign-in work?
Each boat signs in with its boat name and company-assigned boat code. The credentials are for the vessel, not separate accounts for each captain.
What are the four GalleyList doors?
Boat is where a crew prepares its grocery order. Office manages the company catalog, budgets, and order review. Mister Benny shows read-only fleet purchasing reports. Admin uses the authorized owner Replit account for company-level management.
Does GalleyList work on the river?
GalleyList needs a working internet connection to save and send orders; it is not offline ordering software. It can be used aboard a boat with a usable onboard connection. Starlink is one possible connection, if it is available on the vessel.
How much does GalleyList cost?
GalleyList is offered as a per-boat monthly software lease. Current pricing is confirmed during a demo. Contact support to discuss your fleet.
What does "Customizable to your company" mean?
Your boat names, grocery catalog and prices, each boat’s weekly budget, selected grocery provider, and company assistant knowledge are specific to your company. These are existing company settings, not custom logos or custom-built workflows.
Can we set a different budget for each boat?
Yes. Each boat can have its own weekly budget. Captains see the budget, order subtotal, and remaining amount while building an order. The remaining amount updates as quantities change.
Can the office return an order?
Yes. The office can return a submitted order with a note. The captain sees the note, edits the order, and submits it again.
Where do catalog prices come from?
The office maintains product prices in the company catalog. Items without a price show as TBD and are excluded from the order total.
For captains and crews
Does GalleyList save orders without internet?
No. A working connection is needed to save changes and submit orders. Drafts save automatically while connected. Check the save status and retry after the connection returns if a save fails.
Can I see earlier orders?
Yes. Earlier orders are available from Boat History.
What does the assistant know?
The assistant can answer questions using the relevant boat and company knowledge. Company knowledge is kept separate between companies.
Limits and support
Does GalleyList check store inventory or deliver groceries?
No. GalleyList does not connect to store inventory systems or deliver groceries. Product prices come from the catalog maintained by the company office.
How do we ask a question or arrange a demo?
Email support@galleylist.com. Current pricing is confirmed during a demo.
